Surrender / Rehome

Rehoming an animal is sometimes necessary, and we approach it as a practical process focused on responsible placement. We generally avoid the term “surrender,” although it appears in the required link. This does not reflect the solutions‑oriented approach we take.

Our role is to evaluate captive‑bred, non‑releasable, and other difficult exotic species and determine whether placement with us or another appropriate option is the best fit. We maintain resources to assist with rehoming when we are unable to take in an animal due to capacity, resources, or permitting requirements.

We encourage you to fill out the contact form below for any and all questions as we evaluate every case as it should be, unique to the animal. We have transported sick or injured animals to licensed rehabilitation facilities when appropriate, and we have matched permitted animals with new homes when immediate placement was required and we did not have suitable enclosures. These are just a few examples of ways we can tap into resources to assist.

We also assist with enclosure reviews, temperament concerns, and general education, helping owners evaluate enclosure suitability, understand species‑specific behaviors, and make informed decisions about care, management, and long‑term planning.

The animals always come first.
